What motivated her to start the website?

She is the mother of a disabled child. His disability led her to be involved in various disability groups and disability issues.

She was lucky to be supported by an inspirational Family Support Worker, but when the support worker retired Julia knew that no one person was enough to replace her. A few parents volunteered to take on aspects of the support workers job and Julia offered to keep parents up-to-date with information on grants.

Julia knew first hand how young people benefited and how the quality of their life improved when given the correct resources and equipment. "Not enough money" was often the reason why young people had not received services or essential items in the past.

Frustrated by the lack of accessible information on grants for these students and other disabled people Julia set herself the challenge to create a website.
